The past week or two has seen the increased action and presence of ground bees. Cicada killers and similar species. These wasps are somewhat different from the typical bees we are familiar with. They do not contract a single nest that houses a colony. These wasp instead dig holes in the ground. They dig many holes per wasp and can be very large. A small population of ground bees hovering around their nesting area is a formidable sight. Very intimidating! Treatment consists of treating each known hole as well as the overall ground to prevent construction of new holes or allowing the wasps to find other ways in or out.
